A Very Thankful Day

So a crazy thing happened the day after I published my last article on intuition (Recognizing the Flow of Intuition), which included how we may feel if we choose to ignore it. I say crazy because there are so many adjectives that I could use to describe this event. Here’s what happened:

My husband of 26 years chose to ignore his intuition, and if it wasn’t for his guides and angels intervening, he would now be on the other side. He is a diesel mechanic and works on all those big rigs you see going down the road. He was in one of his customer’s yards to work on a trailer fully loaded with luxury cars. Just as he was heading under the trailer on his creeper, he said he got a feeling that he shouldn’t be under there. He briefly stopped heading under as he received this feeling, then he chose to ignore it and went under the trailer. Aaaa!!!

He wasn’t under it very long when he heard a little noise and realized what was going to happen. He managed to get almost all of his body out from under the trailer when the jack slipped out and the trailer came down on him. The worst of his injuries is a torn ear, which required stitches. He also has a contusion above his heart (x-rays showed no damage internally). Why do we know he had help from spirit in this accident? From getting out from under as much he did (I can just picture them pulling his legs out), and from his head being turned to the side. It was several factors that came in to play here; the exact location of his exit, his head being turned, not being pinned…

So some of my other adjectives with this are: scary, dismay, shock, disappointment, grateful, appreciative, ….. you get the idea.

The hubby said he almost didn’t want me to know that he ignored the warning he received because he knew I’d be upset. Well, yeah. However, after my initial reaction of “how could you not listen to your intuition??”, I was just so grateful that I still had him here in the physical world, and that he was whole.

Recognizing the Flow of Intuition

As intuition is associated with feelings, it is common to experience physical or psychological sensations, both when the intuition is flowing and when we are not following it.

Intuition can show as:

  • Goose bumps or tingling up and down the spine
  • Clarity and inner peace
  • Happy butterflies in the stomach
  • And the feeling of “Aaaah! Yes! Of course!”

When we don’t follow it, we feel:

  • A sinking feeling, exhaustion, cold and hot shivers
  • An awareness that “I’ve done it again.”
  • Uneasiness in the stomach
  • A feeling of “Get out of this fast!”
  • Anxiety, depression, feeling trapped

Learning to recognize our own signs is important for a healthy intuition. Following the signs is even healthier! Living with regret depletes our energy and limits our joyful times.
